Junior Graphic Designer

Description:

Carlton Cards, the #1 greeting card team in Canada, is looking for a creative and energetic Junior Graphic Designer to join their marketing and communications team. In this role, you will assist in creating eye-catching designs for digital, print, and marketing projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for visual storytelling and a desire to grow their portfolio while working in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality designs for promotions, advertising, event materials, retail point of purchase, signage, social media content, and corporate communications.

• Execute projects from concept to final prepress while understanding printing processes and digital asset distribution.

• Prepare production-ready concepts and maintain design specifications.

• Work within established brand guidelines while bringing fresh ideas to projects.

• Build strong relationships and promote growth in all assigned projects.

• Maintain artwork files according to company policies and procedures.

• Embrace feedback and make thoughtful revisions while managing competing priorities.

• Perform administrative tasks related to design projects.

Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in graphic design from an accredited college or university.

• 1+ year of professional graphic design experience.

• Strong design skills in both print and digital mediums, with experience designing social content and TikTok-style videos (assets).

• Strong understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office; experience with WordPress and TikTok Editor is an asset.

• Photography experience is an asset.

• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative working style.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and adjust priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Designs with the end-user in mind, creating accessible and engaging materials.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
