Description:
Worley, through its Chemetics Inc. division, is seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Jr. Materials Technical Service Engineer to join its team at the specialized alloy fabrication facility located in Pickering, Ontario. This full-time role offers an opportunity to be part of a global leader in engineering and technology solutions serving the sulphuric acid, chloralkaline, sodium chlorate, and chlorine dioxide industries.
As a Junior Materials Engineer, you will support projects involving materials selection for design, fabrication, customer service, commissioning, and turnaround maintenance related to Chemetics' proprietary process equipment and systems, including the ANOTROL® electrochemical corrosion protection technology.
This role offers hands-on engineering experience and the opportunity to develop multidisciplinary skills within a diverse team of world-class experts. Over time, the successful candidate is expected to take on more advanced engineering responsibilities and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute project work involving materials of construction, fabrication, quality control, and design.
Perform customer outage inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and provide service support.
Commission equipment and assist in preparing it for operational startup.
Train and support customer personnel in equipment operation and maintenance.
Prepare detailed inspection and service reports.
Provide technical quotations and support proprietary parts/equipment sales.
Contribute to R&D activities, including product development and performance improvement.
Engage in preparing operating manuals and related technical documentation.
Travel internationally to support customer sites and commissioning activities as required.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering.
0–5 years of work experience (E.I.T. level or recently graduated engineers welcome).
Strong interest in corrosion, welding, fabrication, CAD systems, and electrical controls.
Mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
Strong work ethic and ability to work in a hands-on engineering environment.
