Description:
We are seeking a Journeyperson Welder to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Journeyperson Welder is responsible for providing repairs, overhauls, and new builds to mining related equipment.
This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario on a rotational basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing assemblies, preventative maintenance, repairs, and complete overhauls on heavy mining equipment according to schedule.
- Make recommendations regarding extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
- Interpret work order and technical manuals.
- Complete job specific reports and paperwork.
- Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety, and follow all rules and legislation.
Required Experience And Skill Set
- Able to set up and operate Cooper Heating systems.
- Able to run post and preheat sessions for bucket component repair/replacement.
- Prior experience in an industrial setting, mine site experience is an asset.
- Experience in effective bucket armoring so as to reduce premature abrasion and wear.

- Experience with Komatsu, CAT, Epiroc equipment is an asset.
- Experience in repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.
- This position is primarily site-based, with a work rotation structured to accommodate both employee and employer needs.
Certifications
- Red Seal Journeyperson Welding certification.
- Valid driver's license.
