Cogeco Média Inc., home to the highly regarded 104.7 FM station in Gatineau, is seeking a full-time journalist to join its dynamic and passionate team. As a key part of the station’s newsroom, you will play a central role in covering regional and national news for the Outaouais audience, contributing to the station's vibrant and trustworthy broadcasting presence.

You will be responsible for gathering, verifying, and delivering news content through on-air broadcasts and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be energetic, curious, and professional, capable of producing compelling content with a touch of humor and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and verify incoming information to ensure credibility and factual accuracy.

• Confirm sources and assess newsworthiness for timely and accurate reporting.

• Draft, edit, and prepare news bulletins using modern broadcasting equipment.

• Conduct interviews and extract relevant sound clips for inclusion in reports.

• Deliver news bulletins confidently during live broadcasts.

• Cover live events and regional news stories with journalistic integrity.

• Publish news articles on the company’s website and social media platforms.

• Participate in leading programming segments with engaging and informative content.

• Answer news desk calls during working hours and manage news-related inquiries.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or an equivalent relevant academic background.

• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in journalism.

• Strong editorial sense and ability to identify engaging public-interest stories.

• Familiarity with the Outaouais region is an asset.

• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

• Independence in managing and producing high-quality content.

• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Google Suite applications.

• Energetic and collaborative personality with a passion for journalism.

• Excellent command of the French language (spoken and written).

• Valid driver’s license required for field reporting and mobility.
