Cogeco Media Inc., a leading media company in Quebec, is looking for a passionate and skilled Journalist to join the newsroom of 104.7 FM, the go-to radio station for the Outaouais region. This full-time, on-site role in Gatineau offers a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual to become a part of a vibrant and professional team dedicated to delivering high-quality news content.

As a journalist at 104.7 FM, you will play a central role in reporting, producing, and presenting news stories that matter to the community. From live bulletins to digital publications and regional event coverage, your contributions will shape the voice of the station.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, verify, and ensure the accuracy of news stories.

• Evaluate sources to maintain factual integrity in reporting.

• Write and prepare news bulletins using advanced broadcasting equipment.

• Conduct interviews and extract key sound bites for on-air use.

• Deliver live news bulletins with clarity and confidence.

• Attend and report on major regional events.

• Publish news content on the station’s website and social media channels.

• Collaborate with the programming team to develop relevant, engaging, and often humor-tinged content.

• Respond to newsroom inquiries during working hours.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in journalism.

• Strong news sense and ability to identify stories that resonate with a wide audience.

• Familiarity with the Outaouais region is an asset.

• Capable of managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

• Independent in producing news reports and stories.

• Proficiency with Windows and Google Suite tools.

• Energetic, team-oriented attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.

• Exceptional command of French, both written and spoken.

• Valid driver’s license, with the flexibility to report on-location.
