Description:
Canaccord Genuity Group Inc., a leading full-service financial services firm, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Wealth Associate to join the Pinkowski Wealth Management team based in downtown Vancouver. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with one of the top Portfolio Managers in the industry, Lori Pinkowski, and to grow within a high-performance investment team.
As a Wealth Associate, you will support discretionary portfolio mandates, actively participate in portfolio research and trading, and contribute to delivering personalized investment strategies to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of capital markets, analytical acumen, and a passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Management and Client Service
Create customized client investment reports and plans.
Write market-related content and client communications on current conditions and trends.
Analyze quarterly earnings, technicals, and fundamentals of blue-chip companies.
Keep up with market-moving events and monitor economic conditions.
Ensure client portfolios are aligned with their financial objectives and firm’s model portfolios.
Maintain proprietary model portfolios with accuracy.
Trading Responsibilities
Execute equity, fixed income, and FX trades regularly.
Monitor security prices and rebalance portfolios accordingly.
Manage debit balances and incoming funds.
Execute trades in alignment with the team’s discretionary strategies.
Administrative and Analytical Duties
Handle administrative tasks related to portfolio management.
Monitor and analyze data using Excel, YCharts, Envestnet, and Dataphile (knowledge of these platforms is an asset).
Follow a disciplined, structured investment process.
Support Portfolio Manager with insights and recommendations based on market conditions.
Qualifications:
Completion of (or willingness to complete) CSC and CPH certifications.
3–5 years of experience in investment, portfolio management, or trading.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Proficient in Excel; familiarity with investment tools like YCharts and Envestnet is a plus.
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Analytical, innovative, and self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
