Intermediate Network Support Analyst

Description:

SaskPower is looking for Intermediate Network Support Analysts for a 10-month contract (with the possibility of extension) to support their Intelligent Networks & Infrastructure team. This is an on-site position based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining, supporting, and operating SaskPower's LAN/WAN infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and support LAN/WAN services for site/plant networks and associated service objects (e.g., desktop devices, printers, multifunction printers, scanners, mobile devices, etc.).

• Provide network design/architectural support and ensure continuous network operations.

• Offer technical support for video conferencing and VOIP network telephony.

• Support wireless network services and manage network traffic analysis and incident troubleshooting using network monitoring tools.

• Implement software patches, upgrades, or hardware refreshes to ensure optimal network performance.

• Coordinate with third-party vendors for network changes and site installations.

• Respond to security incidents triggered through firewall monitoring, IDS, or CIRT.

• Monitor and log key system metrics such as availability, latency, and memory usage.

• Support the configuration, operation, and management of Cisco hardware, firewalls, routers, switches, and network management tools.

• Provide after-hours support as needed (on a rotational basis).

• Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing for network components.

Mandatory Experience:

• 4-5 years of experience in CISCO Network hardware configuration and administration.

• Cisco-related certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCSP.

• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and network management tools.

• Knowledge and experience with LAN/WAN infrastructure and network service management.

Desired Experience:

• Experience with Azure firewall, load balancers, and other networking infrastructure.

• Familiarity with SolarWinds, CA Tool Suite, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, NetFlow Analyzer, and Cisco IOS.

• Experience with Cisco/Tandberg video conferencing equipment and VOIP Network Telephony support.

Education / Certifications:

• Cisco certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCSP.

• Relevant education in Network Support or similar fields.
