Intermediate Architect

Description:

ZO1 Architects, a progressive architectural firm specializing in high-density and multi-phase developments, is seeking an Intermediate Architect / Architectural Assistant Project Manager. The firm is involved in a diverse range of projects, including residential, senior living, retail commercial, luxury hotel, and office developments. As part of the team, you will work on various projects from low-rise to high-rise and large-scale mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage architectural design development from Site Plan Approval to Building Permit and Tender phase in the Ontario/GTA context

• Ensure high-level construction documentation accuracy for residential and commercial projects

• Prepare drawing sets for zoning, site plan approval, building permits, tender, and construction

• Assist in construction administration activities including shop drawing review, specifications, and site instructions

• Coordinate with relevant consultants for zoning, SPA, building permits, tender, and construction drawings

• Provide feedback and collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, consultants, and city officials

• Develop and manage working drawings with attention to wall, floor, slab edge relationships for project development

• Understand and follow client briefs, municipal bylaws, and urban design guidelines

• Support project teams with positive and proactive communication and problem-solving

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design

• Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural design with a focus on high-density residential, hotel, commercial, or senior living projects

• Advanced proficiency in Revit software

• Strong knowledge of OBC Part 3 and Part 9

• Experience in construction administration and coordination with consultants

• Familiar with building materials and construction techniques

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team
