Information Technology Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a proactive IT Specialist to manage and build our IT operations from the ground up! This role requires autonomy, initiative, and expertise to transition our IT from informal rag-tag department to a cohesive, scalable department. In this role, you’ll oversee local and cloud infrastructures, implement new IT policies, support IT initiatives, and mentor part-time IT staff.

Responsibilities

• IT Infrastructure: Manage and monitor local and cloud servers. Install, configure, and optimize hardware and servers.
• Technical Support: Provide first-line support, onboard new employees, manage network access, and advise on security protocols.
• Asset Management: Acquire and track hardware assets, conduct audits, and ensure secure data handling.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, conduct regular assessments, and stay updated with regulations.
• Project Management: Lead IT projects, align IT initiatives with company goals, and mentor part-time staff.
• Mentoring: May assist in guiding junior team members or entry-level technicians

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 5+ years in technical support/IT roles, and 3+ years managing IT infrastructure, and leading teams.
