Description:
Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is responsible for ensuring ensures all facility equipment is maintained and in proper working order by providing day to day repairs and preventative plant maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues and monitoring contracted services. Additional duties of the Industrial Mechanic include but are not limited to:
- Provides the required day-to-day repairs and maintenance as well as preventative plant maintenance to industrial plant machinery and equipment.
- Inspecting, testing and observing tools and equipment to ensure they are in proper working order.
- Ensures strong tenant and client relations by providing excellent service through knowledge, practice, and exceptional customer service.
- Resolves minor plumbing, heating and other mechanical issues in collaboration with Electricians, Engineers, Building Operators, etc.
- Reads and interprets mechanical and structural blueprints.
- Oversees repairs to large central air conditioning units.
- Ensures that maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules are maintained on equipment, and client related calls on HVAC, plumbing, etc. through monitoring of third-party contractors.
- Obtains pricing and scheduling for work order requests, as well as determining equipment needed (bearings, motors, pumps, etc.) and sourcing items in collaboration with the Purchasing Coordinator.
- Creates work orders in Yardi Voyager.
- Dismantles and moves stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.

- Engages across all levels of the organization to create and promote a safe and respectful work environment.
- Other special projects and tasks as assigned.
The profile we are looking for
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance in an industrial environment.
- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification or Journeyman designation is required.
- Advanced understanding of mechanics and HVAC systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Beginner level Microsoft Office skills (i.e., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook).
- Experience in commercial electrical is considered an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean drivers abstract.
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
- Clear criminal record check.
Physical Demands May Include
- Lifting and carrying tools and ladders up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing fixed and portable ladders, and stairways.
- Frequent walking.
- Comfortability in occasionally working at heights.
- May be required to work after-hours or be on call due to business needs.
