Immigration Support Worker

Description:

Under the responsibility of the sector coordinator for the reception area, the ICI-Santé team has a mandate focused on health and social services to inform and support vulnerable immigrant individuals.

In this role, you will:

• Support immigrants with their access to the health and social services network through individual interventions.

• Provide personalized assistance to immigrants in their administrative procedures.

• Inform immigrants about their rights and responsibilities and refer them to the appropriate resources.

• Document interventions and activities.

• Keep up-to-date on relevant health-related information (services, laws, programs) and share it with the team.

• Develop informational tools on accessing the network.

• Encourage participation in group activities to combat isolation.

• Organize group workshops related to health for immigrants.

• Participate in relevant coordination meetings and development activities.

• Contribute to the strategic planning of the reception sector and propose innovative solutions to better serve asylum seekers.

• Participate in the life of the organization: team activities, internal committees, etc.

Qualifications:

• University degree in social work or a related field.

• Experience, knowledge, or studies related to immigration.

• Understanding of intercultural approaches and the migration process.

• Strong team skills, autonomy, versatility, creativity, sensitivity, leadership, and rigor.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

• Excellent command of French and English. A third language is required.

• Strong interpersonal skills at all levels.

• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work in various locations.

• Professional ethics.

Working Conditions:

• One-year contract (renewable)

• 35 hours per week
