Fuze HR Solutions is actively seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join a manufacturing company based in Montreal, Quebec. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment while acting as a resource and leader for all matters relating to occupational health and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Function as the on-site Health & Safety leader, managing the development, implementation, and enforcement of programs and policies in line with internal and regulatory standards.

  • Maintain effective employee and labor relations regarding health and safety matters.

  • Provide ongoing guidance to employees and managers to ensure a culture of safety and awareness.

  • Lead incident investigations, conduct safety audits across the plant, and establish corrective measures and emergency protocols.

  • Facilitate training sessions for staff on various topics related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Accurately input and manage health and safety data in relevant software systems.

  • Conduct routine inspections of tools, machinery, and facility infrastructure to identify and mitigate potential risks.

  • Stay up to date with the latest regulations and safety best practices, especially in Quebec (CNESST).

  • Perform work environment evaluations to assess occupational risks.

  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents, audits, and compliance, including any required documentation for regulatory authorities such as CNESST.

  • Chair the Health & Safety Committee for the site and ensure continuous safety culture improvements.

  • Execute any related duties necessary to maintain a secure and compliant workplace.


Required Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in occupational health and safety, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

  • Certification in Occupational Health & Safety is mandatory.

  • Familiarity with BRC or ISO standards is considered an asset.

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required.

  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities with a proactive and professional mindset.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.

  • Experience with CNESST or similar workplace health and safety authorities is preferred.
