SCIEX, a leader in mass spectrometry and capillary electrophoresis solutions, is hiring an Associate Hardware Research Scientist to join its Hardware Research Department in Concord, Ontario. This position focuses on driving innovation around ion traps and mass analyzers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on novel ion trap hardware, perform scientific research, and support product improvements under the mentorship of senior scientists. Key Responsibilities:

• Define and test novel ion trap hardware to improve performance for customer workflows.

• Utilize various methodologies to verify and validate hardware/software performance under the mentorship of senior scientists.

• Drive innovation by generating novel ideas to advance scientific technology.

• Contribute to product improvement within the research domain.

• Translate development risks into actionable research plans.

• Ensure on-time delivery of research projects, meeting project goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Higher-level Science degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.

• Strong background and knowledge in ion movement, mass analyzer technology, ion trap technology, and ion trap theory.

• Proven publication record related to hardware design.

• Experience with various sample introduction techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of the connection between project goals and company strategy.

• Ability to work independently and effectively drive research.

• Proven track record of innovation and patent generation.
