Cabot Cape Breton, Canada's premier authentic links golf resort, located along the scenic Atlantic coast in Inverness, Nova Scotia, is hiring Golf Course Turf Technicians for the 2025 season. These roles range from entry-level (Level 1) to seasoned professionals (Level 4), each contributing to the exceptional maintenance and visual excellence of Cabot's world-renowned courses.

As a Golf Course Turf Technician, you’ll work on maintaining playing surfaces, managing turf health, operating machinery, and ensuring pristine course conditions that meet world-class standards. The position provides a great opportunity to grow within a progressive turf team, receiving continual training, mentorship, and on-the-job development.


Role Levels & Key Responsibilities:

Level 1 – Entry-Level Technician

  • Perform basic labor (bunker raking, mowing, turf maintenance)

  • Operate light utility vehicles and perform general debris removal

  • Support experienced technicians under close supervision

Level 2 – Junior Technician

  • Operate mechanized bunker rakes and ride-on mowers

  • Tow equipment, assist with hand-watering

  • Some supervision required; training continues

Level 3 – Experienced Technician

  • Independently operate greens rollers, tractors, aerators

  • Perform specialized turf tasks (cup changes, fertilization, topdressing, greens data collection)

  • Limited supervision; responsible for more technical tasks

Level 4 – Senior Technician / Team Lead

  • Expert-level turf operations, including irrigation repair and equipment handling (excavators, skid steers)

  • Lead small teams and projects

  • No supervision required; serves as a mentor and leader within the team


General Responsibilities (All Levels):

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment

  • Operate gas, diesel, and electric turf equipment

  • Execute top-tier course preparation daily before first tee time

  • Report hazards and adverse conditions immediately

  • Learn and apply golf course terminology and practices


Physical Requirements:

  • Work outdoors for extended hours in varying weather conditions

  • Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent walking, crouching, standing, and equipment operation

  • Exposure to chemicals and motorized machinery

  • Consent to criminal background checks (initial and biennial)


Start Date & Duration:

  • Start Date: March 2025

  • Contract: Seasonal Full-Time (6–9 months)
