Join the dynamic team at the Centre de gestion de l’équipement roulant (CGER) within the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable. This student job offers practical experience in a mechanical workshop environment, contributing to various maintenance and repair tasks under the supervision of a mechanic.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist mechanics in their tasks
Mount tires and perform general maintenance
Clean and organize the workshop
Organize parts and equipment in the workshop
Transport vehicles as needed
Repair and maintain mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including:
Salt spreader points
Truck and trailer lights and signals
Heavy truck brakes
Perform welding tasks
Replace tires and hydraulic hoses
Perform lubrication and oil changes (engines, transmissions, differentials)
Retrieve parts, mechanics, or clients from suppliers
Perform various related duties
Work Schedule:
Flexible schedule to accommodate studies and personal life
During study sessions: 14 hours per week
During reading weeks: 21 hours per week
Summer and holiday periods: 38.45 hours per week
Workdays: Monday to Friday, daytime hours
Candidate Profile:
Must be a full-time student (or part-time if in the last or penultimate session of studies)
Legally authorized to work in Canada
Proficient in French appropriate to job duties
Preferred Qualifications:
Enrolled in a vocational diploma (DEP) specializing in heavy vehicle mechanics, construction equipment mechanics, automotive mechanics, or a related field
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
