Description:

TC Transcontinental, a leader in flexible packaging, retail services, printing, and French-language educational publishing in Canada, is seeking a Supervisor, Fixed Assets to join its Financial Information and Operations team at the Montreal head office. Reporting to the Financial Operations Manager, this strategic role involves supervising a small team of senior accountants responsible for accounting and tracking tangible and intangible assets, as well as lease agreements. The role also includes active participation in continuous improvement projects and integration of new acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, support, and develop senior accountants, ensuring effective task allocation and professional growth.

  • Monitor and analyze consolidated and non-consolidated items related to tangible and intangible assets.

  • Track and analyze leases in accordance with IFRS 16 standards.

  • Develop and implement control procedures to ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with internal policies.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize financial information production and quality.

  • Participate in projects to automate and optimize fixed asset management.

  • Provide financial data for tax returns, statutory financial statements, and internal/external audits.

  • Prepare notes to consolidated financial statements for assets and leases.

  • Support plants and team members during monthly closing periods.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • CPA designation (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including fixed asset management

  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving skills

  • Proactive, autonomous, and initiative-driven

  • Excellent command of Excel

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (PeopleSoft, Longview – an asset)

  • Bilingual in French and English (Spanish an asset)

  • Strong communication skills and team spirit
