Firmware Release Manager

Description:

The company is looking for a Firmware Release Manager to oversee the firmware release processes within the Automotive department, ensuring timely and high-quality releases. You will manage firmware release scheduling, signing, publishing, and tracking issues before they impact customers.

Responsibilities:

• Track and report progress of firmware builds at each stage of the process, ensuring high-quality releases.

• Ensure that firmware rollout monitors work effectively and prevent firmware issues before they affect customers.

• Use relational database languages (e.g., SQL), iPython (e.g., Jupyter), and data warehousing platforms (e.g., Google BigQuery) to manage the firmware rollout process.

• Manage and maintain firmware release notes.

• Oversee custom firmware versions and all firmware branches.

• Assist with automating and managing new modem firmware testing and release.

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for areas of responsibility.

Requirements:

• Experience with SQL and Python programming.

• Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Experience with agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban).

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop solutions and manage projects to completion.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong team player with the ability to engage with all organizational levels.

• Basic knowledge of embedded systems and firmware development.

• Technical competence with software programs (e.g., Google Suite for business).
