Financial Accountant

Description:

Bell Canada, a national leader in communications technology and services, is seeking a Comptable Financier (Financial Accountant) to join its dynamic Financial Reporting team. This role plays a critical part in transforming and modernizing the financial controller function to become a trusted business partner by leveraging top-tier talent, innovation, and streamlined processes.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the selected candidate will work closely with business units, subsidiaries, and corporate finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while upholding governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the transformation of financial reporting through centralization and process optimization.

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of monthly and quarterly financial closings.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of operations.

• Analyze financial results and manage risk appropriately.

• Prepare and review internal and external financial reports.

• Approve month-end transactional processes.

• Maintain control environment and audit readiness.

• Advise on new projects, transactions, and accounting standards.

• Identify process inefficiencies and lead improvements.

• Detect and correct gaps in data/reporting systems in collaboration with IT teams.

• Leverage technology to enhance reporting efficiency and eliminate process redundancies.

• Present financial insights to support strategic, value-added decision-making.

Required Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Commerce

• CPA designation (or in progress)

• Strong command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

• Working knowledge of SAP S4 Hana is an asset

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex topics

• Proven team player with high collaboration skills

• English required due to regular interaction with English-speaking stakeholders across Canada

• Adequate knowledge of French required for roles based in Quebec
