Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive, and as such, you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

What You Will Do (Responsibilities)
 

  • Perform operational and maintenance activities within the transmission facilities including, but not limited to, valve and hydraulic operator maintenance and rebuilds, line patrol, line locates, easement clearing, pipeline pigging, and facility upkeep.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners such as landowners, contractors, the public, and various Engineering groups.
  • Assist with locates, isolations, lock-out tag-out, evacuation of gas and provide 3rd party observations during integrity digs.
  • Assist the Gas Control department and the Dawn Control Centre with system changes and problem-solving, as required.
  • Conduct yearly flow tests on storage wells.
  • Install ground beds and rectifiers, as requested.
  • Provide assistance to all functional locations within the Storage Transmission and Operations (STO) group, as required.
     

Who You Are (Qualifications)
 

  • Must have a minimum Grade 12 or proven equivalent.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Pipeline Inspector’s Certificate prior to entry into Field Representative Class II.
  • Upon request, must be able to obtain and maintain an Industrial Maintenance Technician Certificate.
  • Must have and retain a minimum of a Class ‘G’ driver’s license and maintain a suitable driving record.
  • Upon request, must have or be able to acquire and retain a valid ‘AZ’ driver’s license.
  • Upon request, must be able to operate a backhoe and successfully complete an approved training program.
  • Must be capable of operating all other vehicles and equipment currently utilized by the Storage and Transmission Department, Dawn or Cambridge facilities.
  • May be required to obtain a Pitman Crane Operators license.
  • Must be physically capable of carrying out all duties related to the operation, maintenance and construction of facilities on the Storage and Transmission Systems prior to entry into Field Representative Class 1.
  • Must be willing to progress through all grades of the classifications. Progression between grades will become effective upon successful completion of oral, written and/or practical exams.
  • Must show a demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills.
  • Must be able to lean to operate a personal computer and related company software applications.
  • Required to perform respirator fit testing and may be required to use a respirator in the course of duties.
