Description:
The Summer External Relations Assistant will assist virtually with maintaining and updating digital records, providing administrative support, and conducting research, with a focus on Government Relations and Alumni Relations.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintain and update digital records on Raiser’s Edge
- Research grants & opportunities within the provincial government and community organizations suitable for our organization
- Support the implementation of projects and initiatives developed by the Let’s Talk Science Alumni Council
- Provide administrative support to the Alumni Council, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, following up on action items, organizing relevant data, and preparing and mailing out letters to alumni as required
- Assist in maintaining and growing the Let's Talk Science Alumni LinkedIn page
- Help identify and support opportunities to leverage Alumni thought leadership
- Other duties as requested/required that are within the scope of the position
Requirements/Qualifications
- Some post-secondary education or experience in a related discipline
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and videoconferencing applications
- Demonstrated Internet research skills and ability to learn new software
- Naturally organized, self-starter with a systems thinking orientation and strong project coordination skills
- Works both independently and cooperatively in a team environment, while maintaining the flexibility to
- adapt to the changing circumstances and priorities of a dynamic organization
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to take initiative and problem solve
- Ensures professionalism, confidentiality, diplomacy and tact
- Bilingual (English and French) an asset
