Description:
We are seeking a visionary, relationship-driven Executive Director to lead CoHabit into its next chapter. This full-time role combines organizational leadership with active fundraising and communications — a strategic decision that puts fund development at the heart of how we grow and sustain our work.
You will work closely with the Board of Directors, staff team, disability community partners, funders and developers to advance CoHabit's mission, ensure long-term financial sustainability, and expand our impact across Manitoba.
This is a rare opportunity to shape a growing organization at a pivotal moment — to build something that matters.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
• Work with the Board to develop and implement CoHabit's strategic vision
• Position CoHabit as an innovative leader in disability housing and support services in Manitoba
• Ensure people with lived experience of disability hold leadership roles and inform strategy and operations
• Advocate publicly for accessibility, inclusion, integration, and disability rights
• Represent CoHabit with government agencies, funders, media, and community stakeholders
Fundraising and Communications
• Develop and execute an annual fund development plan covering individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government grants
• Lead all donor stewardship, cultivation, and solicitation activities
• Identify and secure new corporate and foundation partnerships, building on relationships established with current funders
• Pursue and manage grant applications and reporting, including provincial and federal opportunities
• Oversee all organizational communications: digital, social media, public relations, and community engagement
• Build CoHabit's public profile through events, media, and storytelling
Governance and Financial Management
• Work with the Board to establish governance policies and strategic plans
• Develop and manage the annual budget; monitor and report on financial performance
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across all operations
• Provide the Board with timely, accurate information for decision-making
Programs and People
• Oversee effective delivery, evaluation, and growth of programs and services
• Lead, manage, and support the CoHabit staff team; foster a positive and inclusive work environment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, government agencies, and sector organizations

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
An asset:
• Lived experience of disability
