Environmental Technician

Description:

This position is responsible for daily operations of environmental protection equipment and maintaining the requirements of Simplot’s environmental license.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures that all company and plant environmental policies are adhered to, and is directly responsible for maintaining compliance with the facility’s environmental license.
• Ensures operation and monitoring requirements have been met for environmental protection systems.
• Ensures that equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner in order to maximize treatment efficiency and minimize treatment costs.
• Maintains all equipment in good working order, or causes such maintenance as is required to be performed by competent people.
• Dismantles, scrubs, and cleans equipment on a regular basis in order to maintain a clean work area, and ensures preventative maintenance of equipment is regularly occurring.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize and respond to all troubleshooting situations.
• Must demonstrate understanding and the ability to discuss environmental systems, process, and equipment.
• Ensures accuracy, completeness and timeliness of documents, testing, sampling, and recording.

Typical Education

• Wastewater Operator Certification; or Bachelor of Science or Engineering

Relevant Experience

• 2+ years relevant experience
