Description:
Lorien, through Bartech Staffing, is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to manage and maintain building electrical and mechanical systems at client facilities in Windsor, Ontario. This contract position provides a unique opportunity to work with a leading staffing organization that partners with major companies, supporting both career growth and professional development.
The Electrical Engineer will take ownership of the design, operation, and maintenance of facility systems including power distribution, controls, HVAC, cooling, and compressed air systems. The role also includes project management of facility construction and equipment installation projects, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations. The position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and contractors.
Key Responsibilities include:
Oversee building electrical and mechanical systems including power distribution, controls, HVAC, cooling, and compressed air systems.
Investigate and resolve deficiencies in facilities and equipment.
Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, TSSA standards, OHSA, CSA, and local by-laws.
Work with internal customers to provide solutions for equipment and building upgrades.
Develop scope of work for facility construction and equipment installation projects and support bidding processes.
Manage facility projects to meet timing, specifications, and cost objectives.
Supervise and coordinate outside contractor services for building and equipment maintenance.
Write purchase requisitions for materials and services required for facility engineering.
Identify efficiency improvements in building systems to reduce utility usage and maintenance costs.
Protect the company’s interests in health and safety, cost, schedule, liability, and functionality on facility projects.
Accept a variety of assignments, including those outside electrical engineering.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in facility electrical systems including power distribution, controls, safety controls, and lighting.
Knowledge of mechanical systems such as HVAC, utilities, air compressors, cooling towers, and bridge cranes.
Ability to interpret and develop electrical and mechanical drawings and specifications.
Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets.
Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, and communication skills.
Experience working in a unionized environment.
Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site 100%.
