Description:
Mold-Masters Limited, a global leader in the plastics processing equipment industry, is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer II at their Georgetown, ON facility. This hybrid, full-time role is ideal for an experienced and technically adept electrical engineer seeking to work in a collaborative, fast-paced R&D and manufacturing environment.
As an Electrical Design Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting complex electrical circuits and control systems for specialized industrial machinery and equipment. You will also coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams to ensure specifications are met, and to continuously improve production efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, layout, test, and troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits and industrial control systems
Create and revise electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
Develop drawings, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and job instruction sheets
Construct and test prototype models from schematics and sketches
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure product and service effectiveness
Analyze existing systems and recommend design improvements or productivity enhancements
Provide guidance and support to assemblers, technicians, and junior staff
Perform conformance tests for manufacturing, installation, and operational use
Ensure all designs and documentation comply with company, customer, and ISO requirements
Follow safety protocols and use protective gear when working in production environments
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering roles, preferably within a manufacturing or automation environment
Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical
Strong understanding of electrical schematics, job instructions, blueprints, and R&D documentation
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to solve complex problems in non-standardized situations
Excellent mathematical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage time effectively and work independently on multiple tasks
Comfortable working in a production plant with moderate noise levels; safety boots, hearing and eye protection required
Desirable Skills:
Experience with control system integration and troubleshooting
Background in industrial automation or hot runner systems is a plus
Ability to write technical reports and research documents
