Description:
Under the supervision and direction of the District Supervisor, this position is responsible to assist District Supervisors with ensuring the cleaning and maintenance programs of the Board are met and maintained to standards and expectations. This position requires the candidate to work predominantly afternoons and evenings.
Job Description
- Training, monitoring, supervision and performance evaluations for the Caretaking staff
- Assists in completing facility reviews as well as inspection and reporting of facility maintenance conditions
- Assist District Supervisors in the coordination and monitoring of community use of school permit activities
- Ensure clients needs are met and addresses problems that may arise relative to staff or equipment
- Available to participate in an on-call rotation
- Assists with the scheduling of shut down cleaning restoration programs
- Evaluates equipment and makes recommendations on replacement or repair
- Processes work orders
- Ensures Board policies and safety procedures are being followed and maintained
- Performs other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Secondary School Diploma
- Post secondary education in related field would be considered an asset
- 5 years of related experience as Head Caretaker or similar related position
- Familiarity with applicable government legislation and standards
- Experience in the direct supervision and coaching of staff (in a unionized and/or multi-facility environment would be an asset)
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently as well as participate as a member of a collaborative team
- Proficiency with Excel, other MS office applications, Google Suite applications, electronic work order systems (ie. ebase) and other maintenance software
- A valid drivers licence and use of a personal vehicle are essential
- Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
