Our client is a specialist in multi-site energy services, operating in the hydroelectric and energy infrastructure sector across Canada. They are seeking a Director of QHSE to join their team in Estrie with a hybrid work arrangement allowing telework several days per week.

Mission of the QHSE Director:
The Director will develop and maintain a robust QHSE management framework aligned with ISO standards 9001, 14001, and 45001. They will strengthen the occupational health and safety culture (SST), ensure compliance with pan-Canadian regulatory requirements (CNESST, OHS, WSBC), lead internal and external audits, and mobilize teams across operational sites in a continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and sustain a strong QHSE management system based on ISO standards

• Promote and embed a culture of safety and regulatory compliance across all sites

• Manage compliance with Canadian regulations related to health, safety, and environment

• Lead internal and external audits to uphold certification and regulatory standards

• Coordinate and engage teams to continuously improve QHSE performance across multi-sites

Required Qualifications:

• University degree in health and safety, engineering, management, or a related field

• Minimum 8 years of experience managing QHSE including multi-site and field operations

• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 (mandatory), ISO 14001 and 45001 (assets)

• In-depth understanding of Canadian regulatory requirements for QHSE

• Proven leadership skills with strategic vision

• Bilingual in French and English (required)

• Proficient with MS Office 365 and QHSE platforms such as Avetta, ComplyWorks, ISNetworld
