Director Of Philanthropy

Description:

Help Heal Humanity (HHH) is a compassionate, volunteer-driven, internationally registered nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the world’s most vulnerable populations. Its mission is to provide access to education, nutrition, community support, and love, ensuring that even in the most challenging circumstances, humanity can rise above adversity.

The organization is currently seeking a Director of Philanthropy (Volunteer) to take on a leadership role in fundraising and donor relations. This individual will work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to implement and expand the organization’s fundraising strategy. The role involves turning established plans into meaningful actions that strengthen student sponsorships, donor relations, and partnership opportunities.

This volunteer leadership position is ideal for an experienced professional in fundraising or nonprofit development who is passionate about humanitarian work, education, and social justice. The role provides the opportunity to directly impact children and families in Haiti and local Canadian communities while shaping the sustainability of HHH’s programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Fundraising Strategy: Implement HHH’s existing fundraising plans, setting clear goals and deliverables to drive donor engagement.

  • Donor Engagement & Stewardship: Build and nurture authentic relationships with donors, student sponsors, and corporate partners, ensuring their contributions feel impactful and valued.

  • Partnership Growth: Identify and cultivate partnerships with corporations and community organizations aligned with HHH’s mission and programs.

  • Campaign Support: Collaborate on signature fundraising campaigns such as Back to School Student Sponsorships, Stand With Haiti, and Community Hours in Hamilton.

  • Board & CEO Collaboration: Provide strategic input, professional insight, and enthusiastic support for all fundraising activities.

  • Mentorship: Guide and inspire junior volunteers in fundraising and donor communication efforts.

What You Bring:

  • Proven experience in fundraising, philanthropy, or nonprofit development.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A proactive, action-oriented approach with the ability to translate plans into concrete results.

  • Passion for humanitarian service, education, and social justice.

  • High integrity, empathy, and a collaborative mindset.

Time Commitment & Support:

  • Approximately 5 hours per week (flexible scheduling with occasional meetings).

  • Hybrid structure — primarily remote with occasional in-person presence required for events in Hamilton/Toronto.

  • Full support from the CEO, Board of Directors, and a dedicated team of volunteers.

Opportunities in this Role:

  • Direct Impact: Every fundraising effort translates into real support for children and communities, including education, meals, and safe environments.

  • Strategic Influence: Play a pivotal role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of HHH’s programs.

  • Legacy Building: Contribute your expertise and network to create lasting change through philanthropy, education, and humanitarian aid.

  • Purpose-Driven Leadership: Join a passionate and mindful team united by the mission of helping heal humanity one student, one family, and one community at a time.
