Digital Enterprise Architect

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director, Digital Platforms, Architecture and Cyber Security, the Digital Enterprise Architect (DEA) is responsible for developing and maintaining the enterprise architecture across the City. This role drives the City’s digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders city-wide to align technology strategies with business goals.

• Develop cohesive technology standards, platforms, and scalable architecture supporting digital strategies.

• Plan and execute strategic architecture to reduce legacy system complexity and operational costs.

• Develop target digital architectures, reference models, and implementation roadmaps.

• Monitor industry trends and lead evaluation of emerging technologies.

• Provide solution architecture oversight for projects and initiatives.

• Support architecture governance and promote technology consolidation.

• Engage across business, data, application, and technology domains.

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree with strong IT emphasis.

• Minimum 7 years progressive experience in complex IT environments.

• Extensive experience in digital solution architecture, including roadmap development and solution design.

• Knowledge of application, technology, data, and security domains.

• Strong strategic thinking, leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with executive, management, and technical audiences.

• Business consultancy skills are essential.

• Results-oriented and fosters continuous improvement.

• Knowledge/certification in Enterprise Architecture frameworks and management platforms (e.g., LeanIX) is an asset.
