Designation: Health & Safety Manager

A well-established and respected client in the construction industry is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead and elevate their occupational health and safety programs. Based in Oakville, ON, this hybrid role is geared toward professionals with deep experience managing HSE initiatives across multi-site, industrial operations. The successful candidate will bring a strategic yet hands-on approach to cultivating a safety-first culture while ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across all operational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement safety programs that align with both corporate objectives and provincial legislation

• Oversee and lead risk management initiatives and thorough incident investigations to identify root causes and drive prevention strategies

• Manage and improve internal audit systems, safety inspections, and training programs across multiple job sites

• Ensure acquisition and maintenance of certifications, including Certificate of Recognition (COR)

• Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate safety priorities into strategic operational plans

• Represent the company in HSE matters with regulatory agencies and clients

• Provide mentorship and leadership to safety personnel, fostering high-performing teams aligned with company safety goals

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years in a senior HSE leadership role within construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline

• Deep understanding of occupational health legislation including OHSA, WHMIS, and COR audit requirements

• Proven success in managing safety programs in unionized, multi-site environments

• Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills

• Experience with digital safety platforms such as Site Docs
