The company’s technology provides marketers with an integrated space for campaign planning, execution, and performance reporting — allowing them to engage customers more effectively and optimize advertising spend through real-time data and intuitive visual tools.

As the organization evolves into a product-led company, it seeks a Database Administrator (MySQL) to join its infrastructure team. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, Operations, and Security, the ideal candidate will manage and optimize Percona-based MySQL clusters in a high-performance, low-latency environment. This role requires mastery in query tuning, automation, and high-availability architecture within an on-premises setup.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect & Optimize: Design, deploy, and manage multi-master MySQL Percona clusters ensuring optimal throughput, latency, and uptime. Implement robust replication topologies for consistency and failover across multiple data centers.

• Performance Management: Diagnose and resolve complex database performance issues, including query bottlenecks, replication conflicts, and transaction anomalies under heavy loads.

• Database Maintenance: Oversee schema changes, backups, and disaster recovery processes to guarantee high availability and minimal downtime.

• Automation: Use Python, Bash, or similar tools to automate database-related operations, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual intervention.

• Monitoring & Analysis: Utilize PMM and Netdata to monitor performance metrics and proactively identify potential issues before they affect production.

• Collaboration: Partner with developers to refine schema design, improve indexing, and optimize SQL queries for large-scale, real-time systems.

• Security & Compliance: Enforce data protection, encryption, access control, and auditing protocols in alignment with company policies.

• Process Improvement: Continuously refine database lifecycle processes across development, staging, and production environments to ensure consistency and reliability.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• Expertise in MySQL and Percona Server: Advanced understanding of query optimization, execution plans, replication models, and cluster management.

• Linux & Scripting Proficiency: Strong command-line management experience and scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or equivalent.

• Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with PMM and Netdata for database observability.

• Infrastructure Experience: Hands-on work in high-throughput, low-latency environments and on-premise setups (virtual and physical).

• Additional Technical Knowledge: Exposure to MySQL 8.x features (CTEs, histograms, invisible indexes), XtraBackup, HAProxy or ProxySQL, and familiarity with ETL or time-series systems.

• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership qualities. Ability to work under pressure and make data-driven decisions swiftly.
