Mercor, a San Francisco-based platform connecting elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs, is seeking a Buy-Side Finance AI Specialist to support AI model development in investment and trading contexts. Backed by investors such as Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D’Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey, Mercor operates at the cutting edge of AI and finance.

As an AI Tutor – Buy-Side Finance Data Specialist, you will work with proprietary tools to label, annotate, and evaluate datasets in buy-side finance domains. Your contributions will ensure high-quality, curated data to enhance AI reasoning and decision-making in areas such as portfolio management, hedge fund strategies, private equity, venture capital, and algorithmic trading.

Key Responsibilities:

• Annotate, label, and evaluate financial datasets using Mercor’s proprietary software.

• Deliver curated, high-quality data across diverse buy-side finance scenarios.

• Collaborate with technical teams to refine AI annotation tools and improve workflows.

• Select complex financial scenarios to enhance AI model performance.

• Interpret evolving project instructions with precision and sound judgment.

• Contribute to AI reasoning development in investment and trading applications.

Qualifications:
Required:

• Professional experience in buy-side finance or equivalent roles.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

• Proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Demonstrated interest in finance, data, and emerging technologies.

Preferred:

• Advanced finance certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or equivalent.

• Experience mentoring, training, or leading teams in investment analysis or strategy.

• Comfortable recording short audio or video clips for AI model training.

• Familiarity with AI tools, data labeling, or annotation systems.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly contractor role paid weekly via Stripe Connect.

• Flexible remote work options with full-time commitment (40 hours/week).

• Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $45–$100/hour.
