Data Security Analyst

Description:

HireTalent is seeking a Data Security Analyst consultant to join their Data Security team on a 6-month contract based in Montreal, QC, with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days onsite. The role focuses on supporting short-term deliverables related to data security controls.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging users and guiding them to take appropriate actions regarding their files. The role emphasizes understanding data classification and handling rather than deep security technical skills. The candidate must be organized, focused, and mission-driven.

Business Overview:

The Information Security department covering the US/Americas regions includes Identity & Access Management, Application Security, Third Party Security, Data Security, and Cyber Defence. This role sits within the Data Security team tasked with delivering key data security initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement controls to fix issues with high-classification files in low-classification repositories.

• Address issues related to untagged files in repositories.

• Analyze Data Discovery scan results.

• Document and execute remediation plans.

• Communicate with file owners to rectify issues with misplaced or untagged files.

• Track and report progress on deliverables effectively.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• 2 to 5 years of IT-related professional experience.

• Ability to multitask and manage multiple work streams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency with MS Office tools.

• Understanding of data classification and data handling concepts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.

• Experience in Information Security.

• Knowledge of scripting or automation is a plus.
