Data Governance Team Lead

S M Software Solutions Inc is seeking a Data Governance Team Lead (REQ21831) on behalf of the Province of New Brunswick’s ERP Project under SNB-Technology Services-ERP. This is a long-term hybrid contract position based in Fredericton, NB, requiring a mix of on-site and remote work, and a strong leadership background in enterprise data governance initiatives.

Key Details

• Work Location: 440 King Street, King Tower, Suite 234, Fredericton, NB

• Start Date: June 1, 2025

• End Date: June 1, 2028

• Hours Per Day: 7.25

• On-site Requirement: Approx. 2 days/week or every other week; flexibility required

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of nine Data Governance Business Analysts

• Identify and engage Data Trustees and Stewards across various government domains

• Oversee and support Data Cleansing activities, reporting needs, and data profiling

• Establish and enforce data standards in collaboration with Data Stewards

• Lead the Data Governance team’s implementation of the enterprise data governance program

• Define and monitor performance indicators and quality metrics for data governance

• Ensure compliance with data-related policies, roles, and adoption protocols

• Serve as a primary escalation point for governance, data quality, and protection issues

• Collaborate closely with business units to improve data asset quality and meet regulatory requirements

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing data governance programs and teams

• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

• Experience in enterprise-level data quality, protection, and compliance

• Ability to work in a hybrid setup and travel to Fredericton on short notice when needed

• Must be willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement and complete mandatory privacy/security training prior to onboarding
