The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a globally recognized biomedical and hospital research institute located in Montreal, Quebec. As part of McGill University's Faculty of Medicine, RI-MUHC fosters innovation in patient-centered medicine. Supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQS), the institute hosts numerous interdisciplinary research initiatives, including the nationally recognized CHILD-BRIGHT Network.
CHILD-BRIGHT is a pan-Canadian network aimed at improving outcomes for children with brain-based developmental disabilities. As part of the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) initiative, the network emphasizes collaboration, patient involvement, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
We are currently seeking a Data Custodian to support CHILD-BRIGHT’s EDI strategy and assist in research planning and stakeholder engagement.
Conduct an environmental scan to explore current EDI practices in research environments.
Learn and navigate existing data systems (e.g., REDCap) containing CHILD-BRIGHT’s baseline data.
Collaborate with Program Coordinators, Communications staff, patient-partners, and others to develop and analyze surveys assessing EDI needs within the network.
Consolidate findings and contribute to the development of EDI strategies and planning within CHILD-BRIGHT.
Liaise with internal and external partners, including scheduling meetings, preparing minutes, and disseminating information.
Participate in and coordinate semi-structured interviews with researchers and patient-partners to inform future funding priorities.
Assist with strategic planning and organization of collected data and stakeholder feedback.
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an undergraduate program in health, education, or social sciences.
Demonstrated interest in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, OneDrive); comfortable learning new tools such as REDCap.
Organized, proactive, curious, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Interest in contributing to strategic health research priorities and planning.
Status: Temporary, full-time (8 weeks)
Hours: 35 hours/week (Monday to Friday)
Pay: $17–$20 per hour
Work Site: Fully remote
Not a hospital position
