Customs Analyst

 

Description:

We are seeking a Customs Analyst to join our team. As a member of the Customs Brokerage team, you will play a key role in ensuring that shipments comply with Canadian customs regulations. The role includes reporting, auditing, classification analysis, and working cross-functionally with the customs broker and Operations teams.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customs entry data and perform compliance audits.
  • Review tariff classifications and advise on appropriate HS codes.
  • Provide guidance on tariff codes and duty/calculations.
  • Support duty drawback, valuation, and Free Trade Agreement (e.g. CUSMA) analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSA regulations and internal trade policies.
  • Create and maintain shipment records and compliance reports.
  • Support the implementation of CARM-related processes.
  • Collaborate with the customs broker and the Operations team to resolve issues.
  • Monitor, interpret and share CBSA Memoranda and trade updates with the group & customers.
  • Assist with other customs-related tasks and administrative duties as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree in Customs Administration or a related field.
  • Experince working in customs compliance or trade analytics is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian customs regulations, tariff codes, and import documentation requirements.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Familiarity with customs broker systems and portals.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is a plus but not required..
  • CSCB or CIFFA certification is a plus but not required.
