Description:
DUC is seeking a Habitat Restoration Project Coordinator to develop and implement habitat restoration actions at the provincial level (Quebec).
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Identifying and researching potential wetland and aquatic habitat restoration sites in collaboration with partners.
- Conducting site assessments as well as wildlife and vegetation inventories and compiling and entering data into reports.
- Collaborating on the development of site design concepts for potential projects in partnership with local stakeholders.
- Preparing wildlife habitat restoration proposals, as well as progress, technical, and inspection reports.
- Participating in funding research and grant applications for the restoration program and completing financial reports.
- Contributing to the management of service contracts with various engineering consulting firms and contractors.
- Collaborating in the implementation of habitat restoration projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in natural habitat restoration and green infrastructure development.
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to environmental studies, water science, water resources engineering, or agronomy; a master’s degree is considered an asset.
- Good knowledge of environmental regulations.
- Ability to work with ArcGIS software and proficiency in English would be considered assets.
