Description:
The Component Specialist will work as the primary liaison between engineering and supply chain to ensure proactivity, coordination, and prompt action between the two groups. The Component Specialist will build a deep understanding of the Ultra Maritime product line, and help incorporate supply chain considerations into the bid, design, and execution of projects. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting supply chain with engineering questions and coordinating with engineering to execute supply chain requests.
- Evaluate and facilitate approve alternate components to resolve shortages.
- Aligning supply chain and engineering during planning, designing, and reviews.
- Working with suppliers, quality, configuration management, engineering, and supply chain to execute change requests and deviations.
- Monitoring part obsolescence and assisting engineering teams in determining the impact and planning remediation actions.
Required Skills:
- Engineering or Engineering Technology degree/diploma.
- 3+ years of engineering or supply chain experience.
- Ability to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles
- Candidate must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with electronic components such as ICs, resistors, and capacitors.
- Experience with engineering deliverables, such as drawings, PCB layouts, and BOMs.
- Familiarity working with or in supply chain.
- Experience using Jira.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel within Canada, US and Overseas
