Cloud Solutions Specialist

Description:

BCAA is currently seeking a Solution Specialist II to join its Head Office team in Burnaby, BC. This role plays a pivotal part in delivering infrastructure excellence by designing, implementing, and supporting business and infrastructure systems across a multi-cloud environment.

As a senior technical leader, the Solution Specialist II will leverage expertise in both Windows and Linux system administration, as well as cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, to ensure scalable, secure, and innovative infrastructure services. You will be responsible for designing disaster recovery solutions, contributing to security architecture, implementing automation tools, and offering strategic technical consulting across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement redundant systems, disaster recovery policies, and data archiving.

• Manage and automate workloads across AWS and Azure platforms using scripting languages (PowerShell, Python).

• Oversee security and identity management solutions (IAM, SSO).

• Resolve complex technical incidents to maintain system performance and reliability.

• Architect and support multi-tier systems involving networking, application servers, load balancers, and databases.

• Lead infrastructure projects, CI/CD processes, and Infrastructure as Code (IAC) integrations.

• Document all technical processes, configurations, and systems for clarity and cross-team collaboration.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to adopt new technologies aligned with strategic goals.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.

• 7+ years in IT, including 4+ years in system administration and 3+ years in AWS administration/engineering.

• Expertise in Windows technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).

• Proficient with virtualization (VMware), networking (Cisco UCS), storage (NetApp), and scripting (PowerShell/Python).

• Strong understanding of AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM) and Azure/O365 features.

• Demonstrated experience with SLAs/OLAs and performance monitoring.

Preferred Certifications:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect
