Clinical Research Nurse

 

Description:

The Clinical Research Nurse – Occasional Pool supports the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CMI) in clinical trials, primarily outside normal working hours. Nurses in this pool provide flexible, on-call support according to trial requirements, contributing to high-quality patient care and research outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical assessments of patient health status

  • Plan patient care and prioritize tasks

  • Deliver required treatments and evaluate outcomes

  • Collaborate with peers to identify work environment, quality, and safety issues

  • Communicate with patients, families, interdisciplinary teams, peers, and support staff

  • Perform additional tasks as requested by immediate supervisors

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Nursing

  • Membership with the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ)

  • Certification in CPR

  • Excellent communication skills in French and English

  • Ability to work independently or in teams with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities

  • Commitment to health promotion and patient safety

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: Variable, outside normal office hours; work mainly supporting clinical trials

  • Compensation is based on education and experience

  • Benefits include paid sick leave, pro-rata vacation, government pension plan (RREGOP), and a 5.3% supplement per pay in lieu of statutory holidays
