Element Materials Technology is seeking a Chemist II or Chemist III to join their expanding team in Mississauga, ON. This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for an experienced analytical chemist looking to work in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment. The Chemist will perform complex chemical analyses on organic and inorganic substances, develop and validate analytical methods, lead investigations, and provide technical mentorship. This role requires a solid understanding of laboratory procedures, technical documentation, and the ability to support cross-functional testing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate chemical and physical properties of various substances using advanced analytical methods

• Conduct method validation, lead development, and draft associated protocols and reports

• Perform root cause investigations for deviations and non-conforming results

• Prepare technical reports, contribute to client quotations, and consult on results

• Draft or revise SOPs as needed and support regulatory documentation

• Mentor and coach junior team members; delegate and oversee technical tasks

• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple laboratory domains

• Maintain communication and collaboration with team members and leadership

• Apply chemical expertise to long and complex product testing cycles

• Ensure adherence to lab standards and safety protocols

• Participate in internal initiatives such as cost control, 5S, and SQDC principles

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Life Sciences, or related field

• Proven knowledge of various reagents, solutions, and analytical techniques

• Intermediate math, reading, and writing skills

• Strong critical thinking and attention to detail

• Excellent time management, planning, and organizational abilities

• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills

• Ability to handle both routine and complex analytical tasks independently

• Familiarity with cost control, lean principles, and lab efficiency metrics

• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and navigate elevated lab environments
