Description:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Category Lead, Indirect Procurement based out of our Toronto head office. The Category Lead, Indirect Procurement plays a key role in supporting the efforts of the Procurement team ensuring Spin Master obtains the best combination of pricing, service and quality across indirect spend categories of goods and services.
How will you create impact?
- Strategy: Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Category Management, create global procurement strategies for assigned indirect spend categories to reduce costs, increase operational efficiency and mitigate business risk
- Sourcing: Design and execute sourcing events (RFx), analyze supplier proposals, negotiate, and manages post award supplier activities
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including driving compliance to procurement strategies, policies and processes
- Contract Management: Partners with business units and legal team in the negotiation of contracts and agreements, including Master Services Agreements, Statements of Works and Service Level Agreements
- Reporting Analysis: Prepare analysis and provide high level reports on data needed for strategy development including spend data, market data, business process metrics, cost modelling and category opportunity analysis
- Tactical Purchasing: Issue purchase orders utilizing e-Procurement system, administer supplier approval and setup, and support continuous improvement of the technology enablement initiative
- Project Management: Facilitates implementation of procurement initiatives by driving cross-functional team collaboration. Responsible for ensuring consistent standardization of procurement processes while driving global procurement strategy
- Efficiency: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define SLA's and KPI's for suppliers and assist business units in measuring supplier performance
- Backs up other team members when required
- Travel may be required

What are your skills and experience?
- 3-5 years of category management and/or strategic sourcing experience of indirect goods and services including IT (enterprise infrastructure, enterprise application and services), HR, Quality Control, Facilities, Travel
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience with contract management and working knowledge of contract law would be an asset
- Direct exposure to the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is preferred
- Experience with SAP procurement and Procure-to-Pay Process
