Business Development Associate

Description:

Well Nest Health Group is looking for a relationship-driven Business Development Associate who is energized by getting out in the community, building partnerships, and helping the right people find the right care. This is a people-first role, success here looks like meaningful conversations, trusted referral relationships, and a growing client base.

You'll represent WellNest at local meetings, events, and with key organizations, becoming a familiar, trusted face in the communities we serve.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Lead Generation & Client Acquisition

  • Generate leads through direct community outreach, networking events, and relationship development
  • Receive and follow up on leads passed from the Social Media Engagement Associate in a timely and organized way
  • Conduct introductory conversations with prospective clients, family members, and referral contacts
  • Guide interested individuals through the inquiry process and connect them with the appropriate WellNest services
  • Track leads, follow-ups, and conversion activity using shared tools or systems

Community & Partnership Development

  • Proactively build and maintain relationships with community organizations, healthcare providers, social service agencies, and local businesses
  • Attend relevant community meetings, networking events, health fairs, and senior-focused gatherings on behalf of WellNest
  • Develop referral partnerships with retirement residences, hospitals, physicians' offices, and other allied health professionals
  • Represent WellNest's mission and services with professionalism, warmth, and credibility

Business Visibility & Growth

  • Identify new opportunities to increase WellNest's visibility in target regions (Hamilton, Haldimand, Niagara)
  • Support the placement of WellNest information in community directories, service listings, and local resource guides
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Engagement Associate to align online and in-person messaging and campaigns
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on partnership pipeline, client inquiries, and market feedback

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with the Social Media Engagement Associate to ensure a seamless handoff of leads and a unified WellNest presence
  • Communicate regularly with leadership on activity, pipeline status, and priorities
  • Share community feedback and insights that can inform service development and marketing strategy

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Relationship builder: You're comfortable walking into a room, starting conversations, and leaving with a connection. This is your natural strength
  • Sales or outreach experience: Background in business development, community outreach, care coordination, or client relations is an asset
  • Knowledge of local community: Familiarity with Hamilton, Haldimand, and/or Niagara service landscapes is a significant advantage
  • Professional communication: Strong verbal and written skills; able to represent WellNest credibly in formal and informal settings
  • Organized and accountable: Able to manage your own pipeline, log activity, and follow up consistently without close supervision
  • Mission alignment: You genuinely care about the wellbeing of seniors and adults with disabilities and want your work to matter
  • Bonus: Experience working in or alongside home care, developmental services, health care, or social services is strongly valued

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Flexible work arrangement with autonomy over how you structure your time
  • A mission-driven organization where your work directly connects people with meaningful care
  • Collaborative partnership with the Social Media Engagement Associate and direct access to leadership
  • Opportunity to grow with WellNest as the organization expands across regions
