The Colbourne Institute for Inclusive Leadership (CIIL) empowers Western Canadian organizations to develop and maintain equitable and inclusive environments. Our focus is on providing support and training to organizations that is driven by research and data. Reporting to the Institute Director, the successful candidates will thrive in showcasing the values of the CIIL of starting small and thinking big as they support the team in connecting with community partnerships.

The ideal candidate will have natural relationship building skills and creativity to identify and reach out to prospective community partners, create content to showcase our work, and create greater opportunities for business development.

This is a casual role with a flexible schedule of about ten hours a week.

How You’ll Make a Difference In partnership with the Institute Director and the CIIL team, this position will:
 

  • Help secure new clients and partnerships for the CIIL. This may include attending industry and networking events.
  • Support with the development of proposal templates and marketing materials that drive client acquisition and retention.
  • Assist events and workshops by attending, recording sessions, and developing content from those sessions that can be used in proposals and/or marketing materials.
  • Synthesize information received from prospective clients, contributors, and existing published research literature and create materials to showcase our community impact and services.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, networks,
  • and service providers to showcase existing data and consider ways to leverage the information for further projects.
  • Regularly scan existing markets in EDIA training and consulting to help position us in unique places.

What You Bring

  • College or university degree in a related field (students who are near completion are welcome to apply.)
  • Knowledge of visual design tools including Canva and Adobe suite (InDesign and Illustrator)
  • 3-5 years' experience creating and designing content for distribution.
  • 1-3 years' Experience in fostering new relationship with stakeholders and businesses.
  • Knowledge of best practices in EDIA training.
  • Experience in graphic design and video production.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate research concept into plain language and design graphics to convey findings.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • 1-2 years in sales and marketing practices.
  • Training (either degree or certificate) in Equity, Diversity and inclusion related field would be an asset.
  • Experience in developing marketing plans or social media strategy would be an asset.
