Business Analyst

Description:

Soho Square Solutions is actively seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join their team in Montreal, QC. This role is well-suited for professionals with a strong background in financial services and a proven track record of working with back-office systems, regulatory reporting, and accounting flows. The position requires the candidate to be onsite in the Montreal office 3 days per week, providing close collaboration with teams and stakeholders.

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in bridging the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring accurate documentation, analysis, and communication of business requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing systems, understanding accounting and P&L flows, and supporting regulatory compliance through reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.

• Work extensively with back-office systems such as Calypso, Murex, OMR, UBIX, ensuring accurate handling of accounting and profit/loss flows.

• Analyze and support accountancy systems, whether in-house or third-party solutions.

• Work with regulatory reporting systems including Axiom, WKFS, and Lombard Risk to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Liaise between business units, technical teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.

• Provide subject matter expertise in financial domain projects, ensuring processes align with industry best practices and regulatory standards.

• Prepare comprehensive documentation and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 – 10 years of Business Analyst experience within the financial services industry.

• Strong expertise with back-office systems (Calypso, Murex, OMR, UBIX).

• Hands-on experience with accountancy systems (in-house or third-party).

• Knowledge and experience of regulatory reporting systems (Axiom, WKFS, Lombard Risk).

• Financial domain experience is mandatory.

• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

• Ability to work onsite in Montreal 3 days per week.
