Description:
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC), a joint venture between Aecon and FCC Canada Ltd., has been selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The subway extension will expand TTC Line 2 nearly 8 kilometers into Scarborough, offering improved, seamless transit to residents and commuters.
As part of this major infrastructure initiative, STC is seeking an experienced and technically skilled BIM Coordinator (Contract) to contribute to digital modeling and coordination across multiple phases of this high-profile project.
Conduct site condition assessments prior to construction.
Create and manage 2D/3D design models for phased site development.
Design utilities such as waterlines, wastewater systems, and electrical setups.
Develop and maintain rail and road design alignments, including profiles and sections.
Perform quantity take-offs and manage data from XML surface files.
Support the BIM Manager and interface with consultants to ensure compliance with project information requirements.
Manage interface coordination across engineering disciplines, construction phases, and temporary/permanent works.
Implement 4D/5D BIM workflows to optimize digital engineering, sustainability, buildability, logistics, and maintenance.
Conduct training workshops on IDD (Integrated Digital Delivery) tools and processes.
Coordinate with project and construction managers to integrate 3D information into planning, estimating, layout, and facilities management.
Develop project protocols for model data management, nomenclature, format consistency, and interoperability.
Assist in drafting contractual language for BIM-related submission and as-built model expectations.
Lead the coordination and review of Project Information Models (PIMs).
Perform software setup, file conversions, CAD environment configuration, and basic team support.
Facilitate 3D coordination across consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams, maintaining the Master Project BIM database.
Propose improvements and innovations to enhance digital delivery.
Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical education and relevant civil construction experience.
Strong expertise in 3D modeling for grading, roads, and surface works.
Familiarity with Common Data Environments (e.g., ProjectWise, BIM 360, Aconex).
Knowledge of EHS regulations and ability to align design with health and safety goals.
Skilled in model federation platforms (e.g., Navisworks, Assemble Systems).
Proficient in 4D BIM platforms (Fuzor, Synchro, Navisworks Simulate).
Experienced in BIM authoring tools like REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley AECOsim.
Understanding of project lifecycle alignment with digital strategies (e.g., PAS1192:2).
