Back End Developer

Description:

Brightsmith is collaborating with a global innovator in electric mobility and energy solutions, seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join their growing North American operations. The company is at the forefront of intelligent EV charging technologies, serving thousands of charging and fleet management facilities across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

In this role, you’ll focus on developing the backend infrastructure for a sophisticated smart EV charging management platform targeted at commercial fleets across multiple continents. This position offers an opportunity to work within a mission-driven team, influencing the global clean energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product and technical leads to guide architectural and design decisions.

• Deliver secure, scalable, and reliable backend code for distributed controllers and cloud platforms.

• Deploy and manage backend cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS.

• Conduct peer code reviews, document systems, and champion best practices.

• Actively support and mentor junior developers as the team expands.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in backend development using JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js.

• Proficient in AWS services (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway).

• Knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL.

• Familiarity with Docker and containerized applications.

• Expertise in writing clean, maintainable code with solid architectural design.

• Previous experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.

• Ability and willingness to travel internationally several times per year (e.g., to the U.S. or Europe).
