NVA Canada is currently seeking a full-time Associate Veterinarian to join its dynamic team in a flexible relief-based role. This unique position offers the opportunity to work across multiple NVA Canada hospitals in regions including Mississauga, Oakville, the Niagara region, and South-West Ontario. Ideal for veterinarians who value variety, independence, and adaptability, this role allows you to experience a broad range of cases, clinics, and patient care environments while forming lasting bonds with supportive team members and clients.

As part of a national and international veterinary network, you’ll have access to cutting-edge medical equipment, skilled support staff, and a community of professionals across Canada and the US. Our clinics deliver a full spectrum of services, including preventive care, urgent care, dentistry, and surgery.

This role is best suited for veterinarians who have at least 3 years of experience working with small animals and a strong background in general practice and soft tissue surgery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trust and rapport with clients through active listening and empathy.

  • Conduct comprehensive physical exams, and perform diagnostics, medical, and surgical procedures.

  • Educate pet owners about diagnoses, treatment options, preventive healthcare, and nutrition.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and uphold clinic protocols.

  • Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.

  • Represent NVA Canada positively in both professional and public spheres.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Licensed and in good standing to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario

  • Committed to high standards of care and veterinary ethics

  • Skilled in dentistry and soft tissue surgery

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Ability to adapt to different clinic environments and teams
