Description:
SCIEX, a global leader in mass spectrometry and capillary electrophoresis solutions for over 50 years, is seeking an Associate Research Scientist (Instrument Control and Acquisition) to contribute to the innovation and development of next-generation instrumentation. This on-site, full-time role is based in Concord, Ontario, supporting critical research and development activities within the Software and Applications Research Department.

Support the testing and development of new hardware aimed at improving analytical performance and enhancing customer workflows.
Design and execute novel verification/validation methodologies for hardware and software under the guidance of senior scientists.
Contribute to ongoing innovation efforts, including idea generation and implementation of new research techniques.
Translate technical and scientific risks into practical research plans aligned with overall project goals.
Deliver research outcomes on schedule and contribute to product development efforts.
Ph.D. (preferred) or equivalent Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or a related field.
In-depth knowledge and experience with instrument control, machine learning, and software development.
Track record of scientific publications in relevant fields, especially related to novel instrumentation development.
Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation and integration of advanced tools into scientific platforms.
Applied knowledge of AI/ML algorithms in solving scientific challenges.
High degree of independence in research execution.
Demonstrated innovation capabilities, including patent contributions.

Salary range: CAD 90000 – 120000 annually, with potential modifications.
