Description:
McCain Fertilizer is currently seeking an Assistant Plant Lead at our Bloomfield, PEI blending facility. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing site maintenance and support to other operational functions, while always ensuring a safe work environment.
Responsibilities And Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment
- Oversee the maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained properly
- Verbally communicate identified Emergency/Urgent repair problems accurately and efficiently to the site supervisor
- Foster a safe work environment and promote continuous improvement initiatives in regard to workplace safety.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of all equipment and buildings
- Willing and capable of doing some exterior physical labor in varying weather conditions as required
- Willing and capable to work at heights
- Provide day-to-day support to the Site Supervisor, overseeing the blending facility to ensure customer orders are completed in a safe, timely and diligent manner.
- Aid the Site Supervisor in leading seasonal staff during the blending season.
Qualifications
- Applicants must be mechanically inclined and have knowledge and experience in a maintenance environment.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in a team environment
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to operate a forklift, skid loader and possess a class 3-A license would be an asset.
- Able to work extended hours during the spring blending season
- Possess a Strong Safety record.
- Must work with a sense of urgency
- Ability to safety lift/move 40 lbs.
