Lavinia is more than a bakery—it’s a space designed to feel like a cozy, welcoming pause in the heart of the city. Inspired by Peruvian flavors and a love for sharing food, the café offers artisanal pastries, Peruvian-inspired desserts, specialty coffee, all-day brunch, and happy hour delights.

The Assistant Manager will play an essential role in shaping both the daily operations and the long-term growth of the café. Working closely with the founders, this individual will ensure that every guest experience embodies Lavinia’s values of warmth, hospitality, and intention.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily café operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

• Provide leadership and guidance to both front-of-house and back-of-house teams.

• Lead service with calm professionalism, ensuring each guest enjoys a welcoming and memorable experience.

• Coordinate staff schedules, internal communication, and training alongside the founders.

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous team development.

• Handle customer feedback with empathy and resolve issues promptly and effectively.

• Manage ordering, inventory control, and daily reporting.

• Maintain the café’s visual presentation, cleanliness, and ambiance.

• Assist in organizing and executing special events, community activations, and seasonal product launches.

• Offer hands-on assistance during peak hours at the barista bar or cash register.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory role in the café, bakery, or restaurant sector.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Genuine passion for hospitality, food, and creating memorable guest experiences.

• Calm, positive, and proactive attitude under pressure.

• Excellent problem-solving and customer service abilities.

• Proficiency in scheduling, inventory, and POS systems preferred.

• Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.

• Interest in branding, design, and community-driven spaces is an asset.
